Hiya,
This is coming along nicely. Maybe consider adding some tabs at the waistline else all those bones can feel as though they are digging right in. Also I suggest that you use something stronger for the lacing cord as it needs to be able to take a strong pull. Have you thought about spiral lacing rather than the 'shoe-lace' style? It is more authentic and also easier to get the sides of the corset parallel all the way down your back.
Your corset can be a size smaller than you so no worry. By the time you are laced in and a 2" gap is left at the back it will fit you nicely if you are a 12. I think that the main thing to watch is that the armhole is not right under your armpits. After all when you pull the back lacing in your body fat has to go somewhere!!

Very nice! In English, we call the 'turn' a 'French Farthingale' or, more commonly, a 'bumroll'. It's silly, I know XD
I can't wait to see the dress! It sounds lovely.

You're very welcome! I love historical fashion, and I have recently purchased Simplicity patterns for undergarments, too, although mine are 18th century. Your s are a really good example!
