Description edit: rescanned and changed title.

this was my pet rabbit, charlene, the day before she died. we had her euthanized. she was about 10 years old.

she developed some nasty tumors that were pushing against her spinal cord, which basically paralyzed her back legs. she lost a lot of weight and had trouble eating. she also couldn't clean herself, and was sitting in her own waste all the time. it was a pretty sad few days... since we hadn't discovered the tumor until it was too late.

she actually lived a very long time for being an all-year-round outdoor rabbit.

to lighten the mood... the farmer we got her from told us she was male. so for the first 6 years we had her, we thought she was a boy. same thing happened with our other rabbit, eddy, who died about 4 years ago of pneumonia i believe. that was when we found out they were both female, because we had taken them to the vet and they told us. so charly became charlene. eddy would've been something like edina... or something.

yep.

I find it difficult not to favourite ALL your work, because it all tells such beautiful, tragic tales. This shot almost brings me to tears, thank you for posting it.

it's always hard when pets die, but especially more so under circumstances like that. but then again, at least there's no more pain anymore, right?

anyhoo, i like the photo. it may sound crazy, but it seems to me that she looks very wise. she's seen things and many years have passed.. gives her the time-earned wisdom look. :3 anyhoo, great work!

Sad story aside, you have a natural touch for composition. I'm trained in photography, so I can't comment on your development (looks great though), but you can certainly lay out a frame. I hope you keep the sequential art up in that sense. I think it's really a great vehicle for 2D design, and you're good at it.

She was still beautiful, despite all her hardships. A tear jerking, but outstandingly emotive photograph. One of your best.
