I guess being forced to manual focus all the time with the 50 mm on my Nikon D60 does have its advantages. That's one. The other is that the 50 mm was, is and will be a fantastic lens Thirdly I look for a nice background and study lighting a lot beforehand. Lastly, I sharpen the images a bit in Lightroom afterwards. That's about it
