Description When playing Pokémon with my bro, I kept coming across free-roaming Wablus, a few times even accompanied by Altaria. They looked so cute that I wanted to take a photo, but then they always ran away. D: So I thought to myself: oh, then I'll just have lots of Wablus and an Altaria myself. Since my brother and I also each have a Wablu as a companion in Pokémon Go, I thought I'd put the two of them at the front.

Since Wablu doesn't have a complex form now, I figured I might as well use the picture for practicing. In the Discord channel for fanart, interesting videos were shared about the painting process. Among other things, they talked about how you can go from rough shapes to motifs. Or there were tips on painting plants. I wanted to try out a bit of rough painting, because digital landscapes, especially lawns, always look quite empty to me and I don't use digital brushes, with which you can then add different leaves and larger ones. When I try something like that, it looks more like stamped impressions. xD That's why I try to paint it so that it fits in with the rest of the picture and doesn't look artificially added.
In the end, I'm not sure if the background isn't too blurry. And with the grass, I don't know if it's become TOO minimalist or if that's possible. I often can't tell when something is too coarse or when I'm getting lost in details that would be too much for me.  I find it much easier to depict landscapes traditionally or with outlines. I'll try practicing this every now and then and hey: I painted a picture completely without a sketch

Wablu is cute ♡
You probably haven't noticed that I like this simple Pokémon.
