My second visit to Sapsucker Woods - and like my first visit, I came back with some close Sapsucker photos. This time of a youngin'. We heard that there were three juveniles, but we saw two juveniles and at least one parent (mom). This one flew into a tree that was right on the boardwalk, giving us a great opportunity to watch him feed from the holes in the tree.

Yes, there are some foreground leaves, etc - there was no way around it unless we moved closer to the bird and moved them. We did not want to disturb it! I snapped away when he moved his head in the clearing.
