Hobbes is a strangely difficult character to draw... He doesn't seem like it just looking at him, but he is. Bill Watterson is magical.I must admit, when I was younger, I didn't much care for Calvin and Hobbes, nor did I really care for newspaper comic strips. Going on 24, I still don't like comic stips all that much; however, within the last few years, I've gained a respect and love for Calvin and Hobbes. I figure they were just too intelligently written for me to really get into as a kid. The last time my ex girlfriend got me presents a couple Christmases ago, it was a bunch of Calvin and Hobbes books that I can't stop reading and re-reading.
Here's my tribute to Bill Watterson and his wondeful characters.

Ooh, this I love! I was too young for the comic strips, but my dad used to read to me and my sister straight from the books. A lot of the philosophical stuff went over my head, but Calvin's imaginary games; especially Spaceman Spiff and the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons, always sent me into an endless giggle attack. (Babble session over.)

I'm totally in love with C& H since I saw some comis strips in really old polish comic magazine, that my boyfirend kept.
I was 24 back then :> And since that day I got all books with C&H I could afford

Outstanding work, Calvin and Hobbes will be a timeless comic strip, right there with Peanuts, Family Circle, and several others.
Actually have Calvin in camies with a m16 tattoo from my Marine Corps days, sketched out a leaping Hobbes for a shoulder piece jus' haven't got it yet.

I'm not sure if any newspaper still runs them. Bill Watterson stopped the strip a while ago and has been producing collection books of them.
