I was thinking though about how stores tell you that you are saving money...
I don't know about you, but even though a business tells me that I am "saving" money, I always walk out with less than when I walk in with. I've only lost a little less that I normally would have. So as far as I'm concerned, I haven't saved anything.

They need a word for when you lose less than you normally would have.

yeah... but then i realized that that is the definition of save.
Bah!

But of course it depends what angle how you look at.
On the glass is half full side, it's "save".
On the galss is half empty side, what would it be? "Lose"?
