Remakes mean they are out of new Ideas and have to steal from someone else. I see it all going downhill if they remake Wrath of Khan.

Yeah. I liked the rumors that the new villain was going to be Gary Mitchell much better. At least that's territory that is practically untouched. If they're going to do their own version of Trek, I'd prefer to see some fresh, truly original ideas.

I like Benedict Cumberbatch, so I'm hoping they do something interesting with him, but I'm not too enthusiastic about the prospect of a Wrath of Khan remake. Not much they can do to improve on the original.

So that's what they are planning to do? I haven't kept up with Trek, but I was in the theater the other day to see the Hobbit in 3D and they had a trailer for the new trek... I guess this movie is the alternate reality that the Last Trek movie created... Don't like changes. I like the Trek I grew up with... I guess it's inevitable tho...

Yeah. I'm an old school fan. If they've got to do a remake, I would like to see a little more substance and a little less flash -- literally as well as metaphorically.
