Description A basic tutorial on photomanipulation. Hope this comes in handy to any aspiring manippers.

I'm pretty new to photomanipulation myself, but I've done a lot of retouching and graphic design, where I use layer masks a lot.

If anyone spots any errors, feel free to let me know.

FULLVIEW FOR THE TUTORIAL.

Hi,
Please forgive the stupid question, but how do I find the tutorial? (fullview? I tried clicking on the image so it's bigger but that must not be what you mean)

Thanks

This might be late, but you click "download image", right beneath "favourites".

sure! I use layer masks when I'm painting, even When I want to hide something I blobbed in there, but I'm not sure if I want it gone completely yet It's handy for anything!

Thank you so much. I have desperately trying to find out how to drop one pic or a part of a pic into another one. This I think is what I will need. Hope it is anyway, but even if it ain't I thank you for the effort you put in to help others.

Thank you for this tutorial!

ps
I have a little question, does it seem that, the point of view of the girl is a little lower than the point of view of the background? I mean, in sense of prospective...sorry for my creepy English...>_<

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mynti In reply to ssaillen [2007-12-19 05:45:52 +0000 UTC]

Sure, I agree there. However, I was doing this example as simply a tutorial for masking, so I wasn't really worried about the actual end result here... The photomanip in the tutorial is not an actual piece in my gallery, more just to show what layer masks are capable of doing. It's just that I use layer masks a lot while digital painting (especially when I want to make a change but I'm not sure if it's the right way to go.. I'll typically mask something instead of erasing it ) and graphic design To be honest, beyond masking, I have no idea what the artistic photomanip process really is... every time I try one I give up in lieu of painting instead.

Cheers!
Gracie
