FINALLY I get my original character up here!!!!!

This is the one I kept saying I was nervous about, that I thought somebody was going to steal. All paranoid delusions, my friend. And so, finally, I have a picture of Blake, The Living Dead Boy.

Not much of a background story, but... somehow, he was created from Death. No, Death ain't his daddy. He was, I dunno... kind of the result of some strange concentration of Death's power. I don't think he was ever really "alive", though.

This idea originated from a doodle gone wrong in my notebook over two years ago. I then took inspiration from Leroux's "Phantom of the Opera" and gave him his title and his bony physique. He started out looking eleven or twelve, and well... now he doesn't. He is like my son, look at him all grown up

Well, he's got no eyes and no nose, and really really big adorable ears. The reason for the glowy eye there is basically the same reason Lucy has that one slit pupil - I have a tendency to draw characters with eyes that are REALLY hard to express, and I needed a way to show that he is glancing in another direction without twisting up the shape of his eye socket.

Anyway, advanced critiques would be appreciated. Yes, I know his left leg is WAY too thin. It pisses me off. It's just THERE, laughing at me. And I'm not too fond of the shading, especially on the jeans. If you can find anything else that doesn't look quite right, please let me know.

OH - one more thing. Please don't think I'm copying 's character. In fact, a few months ago I randomly looked up "living dead boy" just to see if there might be a reason to not post Blake. I came across Zabetta's "Z-Boy" comics and freaked out a little. There I saw a tall, thin character with Tim Burton-inspired features. It didn't help that his name was Drake. I freaked out, I thought, "If I post my character, she'll think I copied her" but I talked to her and we worked it out that it's no big deal.
