I admire your work, indeed..!
This pic is so emotive, deep and.. not funny. I think your portraits have that what portraits must to have -more emotions!..

Having looked through your gallery, I am taken aback by your creativity with the medium of portraiture. There is a rich vein of theatre in all your work, and this piece is a perfect example. To me, it represents the wish to please and to be accepted. The underlying desparation borders on insanity. Technically, I can offer no deep insights or advice. You are far too good for that.

There probably isn't much that hasn't already been said, but you should know that this is the most beautiful thing I've seen in a long time. Truth just oozes out of this. You capture the human fear of rejection in a completely original way. As everyone else has already mentioned, the initial lightness of the piece is captivating. The built in irony is that just as we are blind to the true feelings of the clown, we allow ourselves to be ignorant to the feelings of those around us, and we choose to ignore our own insecurities. Anyone who looks at this is forced to face those feelings. You're what art is all about.

At first, I found myself laughing out loud at your facial expression and my initial surprise to see you like this, but then... the more I looked and thought about it, the more the image began to seem a little sarcastic and dark.
Beautiful, I really appreciate the concept behind this.
......"A man goes to see the doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems hard and cruel.
Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain.
So, the doctor says, "The treatment is simple. A great clown, Pagliacci, is in town tonight.
Go and see him. That should pick you up.
The man bursts into tears. He says, " but, doctor... I am Pagliacci!"

Ahh! I want a goddamn clown, or jester, just like that.. yessiry-bob. -grabs, tugs- Squish you, and love you, and squeeze you and call you Fred.
But besides that.. I love that picture, the feel of it, the older, and grainy look.. Lovely.
