Tallinn. It's the Russian cathedral right opposite our Parliament house so it tends to raise issues now and then. But the architecture is very beautiful and I just loved the way its was shining in the sun.

A very interesting article! The remark about Estonians resenting it reminded me about how some of the Alutiiq feel about the Russian churches here. Many still worship Russian orthodox fashion but quite a few resent the symbol of the religion that destroyed their culture. I also had to read the page about the Kalevipoeg. What a great story! I followed the link to the free books at Project Gutenburg and downloaded the whole thing. I can't wait to put it through my reader and listen to it. I think I'll take it on my trip for something to listen to in the car as we drive!

The most characteristic part about him is the way he dies... Not much brain I'd say.
But I'm glad you find it interesting, even tho the legends are pretty much the same in all cultures I like to learn them and see the differences - says something about that particular culture.

You're right! The most enjoyable part of mythology is comparing the similarities and the differences and understanding what they have to say about a particular culture!
