I used to color most of my drawings digitally. I actually prefer it.
For some reason my marker drawings are more popular, streaks and all. 
I have trouble getting the scanned marker drawings to look as good as the originals. Scanning washes out all the lightest colors and makes reds look wimpy... this partcular drawing scanned well, though.

I have the same drawing with scans and photos of marker drawings. 
Norman Rockwell did say that part of being an illustrator was accepting that your colors will look all wrong in the final print. So I guess I'm starting to understand what he meant.

Y'know, if you really want to make your kids do a double-take, maybe you could tape a copy of this drawing onto the side of a box of cereal. "That's right, gang. Mom bought the last box of Post's chocolatey puffed cereal for goths."
