Hi Kheng, thanks!
I was just showing your work to one of the modellers on my crew. We were pretty impressed with your work! Looks great and is a wonderful inspiration.
Hope you're having fun in Australia.

Love this one dude, great colours and energy. Doves get a lot of work as 'extras' in painting ( flying dramatically through god rays in a church, against the dark hills behind a city, that sort of thing), good to see them getting some bigger roles

Doves make great bot-snacks apparently as well!
Thanks Ben!

Pheuuu! nice. Do your concepts come into your mind fully realised then you place them down, or do they form as you draw, how do the forms come together when you work, i've yet to figure that out in my drawings, and would like to know how others do it!

I think one of the time tested ways for artists to make that idea "gell" is to play around with loose shapes as quick as you can. Try doing "thumbnails" (small little sketches to try out various compositions) and then when you do one you like, try taking it further. The faster you do those initial little roughs the better .... keep things very loose and freely flowing.
Hope that helps....

I love evil, creepy, and skeletal things! Add in it's a machine and it's top shelf!

nice piece, I actually like the way you've done the birds more than the Bot

mysterian In reply to JonGibbons [2008-08-22 17:36:13 +0000 UTC]

Yes,... I agree. The birds look more direct and fresh while the bot does seem a bit labored over and soft. I learned something for "next time" on this one.
Thanks Ash
