Brayden had always been what most would call a bully. Ever since elementary he had picked on those he saw as below him, anyone younger than him, people he knew couldn’t stand up to him. Today though, Brayden would get the karma that had been coming for him.

As Sarah walked home, she already knew what was going to happen. Brayden walked up behind her and gave her a shove, pushing her to the ground. “Watch where you’re walking.” Brayden said with a snicker, walking past her as she  got up, brushing herself off from the dust and dirt that she landed in. “You know what? I’m glad you hit me, and finally gave me an excuse!” Sarah shouted. Before Brayden could turn around to try and hit her again, a bolt of energy hit him, causing him to fall to the ground. His body shrank and stiffened, arms and legs merging together with his body to become one long pole. His skin became a dark blue, everything that is, except his head and neck. His neck expanded and turned into some weak metal, ending with his head becoming a white rubber substance, losing all features.

Sarah walked over to Brayden, now nothing more than a wooden pencil. “At least now you’ll be helping someone, you better hope sharpening doesn’t hurt too much though, haha!” Sarah mocked as she held Brayden in her hand. “Now, I still have to get home. Speaking of, hope you like your new ‘home’” Sarah reached into her bag, pulling out a pencil case, opening it up and tossing Brayden inside without a second thought, trapping the boy in the dark area, now nestled in with the rest of the pencils and supplies in her bag, looking like he would be in there for a while.

Brayden saw light again as the giant hand of the girl who now owned him reached in, grabbing him out, placing him on the desk next to a piece of paper, specifically her math homework. “Can’t write with a dull pencil, now can I?” Sarah said as she gripped Brayden, bringing him closer and closer to the pencil sharpener on her desk. Brayden tried and tried to beg, explaining he was sorry and wouldn’t ever bother her again, but it was all in vain. As Sarah shoved his wooden body into the cone shaped hole, he felt as she began to twist him, slowly cutting off more and more of his body. With each turn, Brayden felt that he wasn’t just physically losing parts of himself, but mentally as well. After Sarah had finished sharpening the pencil, Brayden noticed that he couldn’t remember certain things, only small things, like most of what he did that day, but it was concerning nonetheless.

Sarah began to work on her homework, filling out the basic equations. Brayden felt strange as he was used, like his feet were being dragged across concrete, taking bits and pieces of him with it. As he was used, Brayden despised every moment of it, still hoping it was just some strange dream, and he wasn’t reduced to nothing but a simple object.

It wasn’t long until Sarah had finished her homework, filling out a few different sheets, and having to sharpen Brayden a few more times, erasing more and more of him with it. But now she was finished, deciding to read a bit before going to bed. As she pulled out a book, she tossed the pencil back into the pouch and into darkness once again, his only company being the few, not living pens and pencils in the case with him.

Sarah slept through the night well, forgetting about Brayden by the time she woke up. As for Brayden, he discovered that his new body wasn’t capable of sleeping, it didn’t need to. So as Sarah was comfortably in her bed, Brayden spent the night in mind numbing isolation, only able to think to himself for hours.

Sarah got out of bed, packing her things for the school day and getting dressed, slipping on her sneakers and starting her walk to school. Not once as she strolled along the sidewalk did Brayden cross her mind, same as all the others she had turned. Every time she got picked on or just disliked someone, she would do the same thing. Wait until they are alone, and transform them. Some she made into things she needed, like school supplies, while others would become whatever she deemed fitting. Whether that was a pile of dirt on a path, or a sidewalk tile, she didn’t really care. As long as they were gone, that was good enough for her.
