Rainbow Dash's expression is so thoughtful and doubting here. Reverent and happy about what she achieved, but also disappointed that it isn't the way she imagined it.

A pretty decent episode but apart from Rainbow achieving her dream, it fell kind of flat to me.
Newbie DashIt is Saturday and another episode of our favorite cartoon has come and gone. It’s time for me to watch it and record my thoughts for another edition of my Stream Of Conscience review. This time I know nothing of what this episode will be about but I’m sure it has to do with Rainbow Dash and the Wonderbolts just from reading the title (Dash=Rainbow Dash, Newbie=new military arrivals). So here it is, my reactionary review of Newbie Dash:
*Looks like another lovely day in Ponyville!

*I highly doubt it Dash. It wouldn’t make much of an episode.

I don't know how I feel about her being okay with just fitting in instead of being her normal showboating self.

I hear you on that. She has no problem being herself around her friends and should be able to be that way around others no matter who those others are.

It finally happened. Third goal of the mane 6 achieved: Twilight is a princess, Rarity is selling her fashion out of Ponyville and spreading and now Dash is a Wonderbolt.
Now what? What for Pinkie, Applejack and Fluttershy? Any idea? I know that Applejack's goal would be the same as Rarity, so selling her apples to whole ponies of Equestria. Pinkie? Huggest party ever until the next one? What about Fluttershy? I see her creating some kind of refuge for every animals in need, but a veterinarian hospital must already exist.
What do you think?

Pinkie will take over donut joe's place in canterlot and with celestia's endorsement, she creates a chain of bakeries throughout equestria which later forced to close half of them due to monopoly laws.
Due to Granny Smith's old age, Applejack is made the primary decision maker of Apple Acres. Big Mac will (quietly) protest and leave to become a luchador wrestling star forcing AJ to make a stressful struggle to profit off of ground crops.
Fluttershy will be emotionally scarred by the loss of a creature under her care and goes off on a crusade to save all animals making her a world renown animal whisperer. Her lack of social contact will cause her to develop the ability to commune with plants and spirits from a different dimension.

Hahaha! Great ones. Thy are fanfics worthy. And yet they make more sense than some I read.
Interesting that none of them is about getting married and make a family. But that would fit Applejack. Pinkie could become Sugar Cube Corner's new owner and Fluttershy could create a reserve (or many) for endangered species.

My guess is that it's Spit Crier because she whined like Rarity her first day of training. Others think it may be a rather NSFW variation of her name, but only the writers know. I like Spit Crier, personally.

It was an OK episode, but it does show how teammates can be. Just because they aren't nice doesn't mean they think you shouldn't be on the team. Besides, their "meaness" came from a nickname that was tips Rainbow off a bit too much.
