Yeah, that is pretty freaky when she does that. However, it was a perfect scene for me to have a comment about her enslaving the Mane 5 to overthrow Twilight and take over Equestria 
SoC: Every Little Thing She DoesAre you ready?
Good, because it’s time for another SoC! This time I did get the synopsis, mainly because I wanted to see how many episodes we have left. For some reason, I thought we had 24 episodes, but I forgot the season usually has 26. So there is a little more time left before we reach the end. We are going to find Starlight Glimmer (I guess they didn’t forget about her after all) behind in her lessons and trying to multi-task many at once. That has disaster written all over it so it will be interesting to see. Without further stalling, let’s get ready to suck it!!!! Sorry, that was the last part of that DX intro and I couldn’t help myself (like most people reading this will even know what I’m blabbering about). Don’t suck it, just read it, the SoC for Every Little Thing She Does.

The episode wasn't that bad.
She was confused. She was trying to impress Twilight so bad she was scared at failing at things she wasn't good at. She thought the tests were on her ability to do things rather than testing her ability to bond with her friends. This is understandable because Starlight has only recently made a friend in Trixie.
And Twilight reacted appropriately I thought. She was livid when she came home to see the castle and then she responded with the appropriate "I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed" (which is worse let's be honest). And as for the mane5, they reacted appropriately too. Only waiting to forgive Starlight if she sounded sincere. That whole scene where they're sitting around "hungover" off of magic I thought was very amusing. lol Fluttershy being too loud? HA!
Sure the episode wasn't Amending Fences levels of spectacular but I wouldn't call it a disappointment. At least Starlight is getting episodes. In order for you to show your characters grow you have to show them making mistakes along the way or else it won't be believable.

Urgh. This episode was HORRIBLE. I especially hate Starlight, what a terrible, unsatisfying resolution she got.

And then Twilight isn't even mad about that. This episode was awful.

This episode was pretty wild, poor starlight, poor unfortunate soul, you should know that magic can solve anything that anyone else.
Though I do applaud you for combining different spells to make interesting facts and abilities you will be a full-fledged wizard in no time at this pace.
(Then switch's dramatically evil music) then you will take over and this time no one will be able to stop you MAHAHAHAH!
