Is anyone else getting confused with the constant category changing here on DA? It seems like every time I update, I have to use a different category...and many are redundant. >_O

One of these days I will do Legion fanart that does NOT include Brainy...maybe of Chameleon Boy; he's my second favorite...

This came about when I was watching the recent ep "Who Am I?" and saw Brainy in his tech chair. I don't know about you, but I thought Kid B5 in his floating eggshell was just adorable. Teen B5 however, is EVIL INCARNATE. And it doesn't help that the chair itself is a freakier egg than the last one. I swear, I kept flashing back to James Bond movies with that guy and his cat. I even half expected Brainy to say "Welcome, Mr. Bond" when he first floated in. But no, instead he says an unsettling "when I'm done with him" kind of line that creeps even poor Chameleon Boy out, and proceeds to outline a plot that is borderline insanity. And his little comment about evil being possible in everyone at the end of the ep didn't help either. *shudder* This coupled with Kell-El's hint at Brainiac 5's name being infamous in the future is making me begin to worry that the series is gonna go Silver Age on us and drive the poor guy insane/evil for a short time. LOOK OUT BRAINY, THE CREATORS HAVE IT OUT FOR YOU!!

By the way, I substituted the cat for Koko, Brainy's pet monkey-thing from some comic book arc...I couldn't find a good pic of it, so I borrowed off 's design at [link]
EDIT: Whoa, I was rewatching the first season, and I found a mention of Koko! When poor Brainy's going nuts in his containment chamber in "Brain Drain", he yells "I want my Koko!!" Ha! I wonder if he does have a pet at home then.../Edit
I was considering putting "Welcome, Mr. Bond" in script on the actual art, but I decided that I didn't want to clutter it with the text of an inside joke, so I made it the title instead...I can't help it; he looks like such a spy villain in that chair...

Lighting is from the bottom! Whoa, I'm branching out! This was due to the fact that bottom lighting leaves a rather creepy effect, and as I'm going for borderline evil here, that helped. But dang, it was hard trying to figure out how to shade someone INSIDE an oval from below...

I have discovered the key to cool backgrounds. Rip off a screenshot. ^_^ I got the inspiration for this from the background when Brainy first shows up with that chair. I simplified, but it works. And unlike many other BGs of mine, this one took maybe ten minutes...tops. I love it when they're both fast AND cool.

But dang, this has gotta be the most symetrical, geometric thing I've ever done yet in this gallery...DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO SHADE PERFECTLY SYMETRICALLY? At least in my style? Wait, Don't answer that.

Brainiac 5 is copywrited to DC comics, Warner Bros, and anyone else who's armed with a lawyer and a hand in this series.

EDIT: Have any of you seen season two ep 8, "Message in a Bottle"? I WAS RIGHT!! I just wasn't expecting to be so right so quick! ((O_o)) Poor Brainy...that's going to be a problem come the season finale...

EDIT #2: HAVE SEEN DARK VICTORY I. UM... ((O_O));
Can I call it or what?? The first ep forecasted all this...

EDIT #3: I saw that coming, and yet I wasn't actually expecting them to DO it. When "Fear Factory" aired in season one, I wondered about his Pinnochio complex, but jeez...they actually changed his character...
