Description
Made a quetzalcoatl template for my yearly halloween B/C gram shop on Gaia, Snakebasket [link] . This is one of the 'random colored' orders I did. The recipient had 'peacock' in their username, and I was suddenly inspired. O:Forgot a layer of feathers in the second wing. XD;
Description:
The 'feathered serpent' has many names in various cultures, but the Aztecs called it the Quetzalcoatl and revered it as a deity. As something between a bird and snake, it was held to be a symbol of dualism, living its life both flying in the skies and crawling on the ground.

Looks good, but I wul try using blues and purples on the shadows instead of shifting tp a darker color.
warm colored highlight, and cyanes for the blue neck, could help improve things

You may be right! I often fiddle with shading hues but end up settling for more subdued ones because I'm afraid of going overboard. Should probably ask other people to decide for me what is a good amount xD

Those coverlets are beautiful. *___* The way the tips are gold on the end instead of outlined dark really makes them pop.
Since critique is requested, one thing that sticks out to me is that the primary feathers are divided down the middle. Flight feathers are thinner and stiffer on one side compared to the other, and when that isn't shown the effect is that most people can tell something is a little off, though not necessarily pinpoint what.
The shading is excellent too.

It's finished! It actually ended up having a beginning, middle, and end. You don't have to read it if it doesn't hold your attention, my feelings won't be hurt. But do tell me what point got boring, if that was the case. >.O

It never got boring! I got carried away reading it and stopped critiquing despite my promise to critique every chapter, and then decided not to continue reading it until I went back and critiqued the chapters I hadn't critiqued yet, and it's been stalled there. xD That's awesome that it's finished though! OuO
And yeah, most brush-shaded arts would probably be prettier without lineart if done right, but I simply don't have the time for that. xD;
I'll see if I can finish the animation despite everything during the winter break. Remind me of it please? XDD
