One day, Rosalina finds the dress that Peach wore when possessed by the Shadow Queen, and notices it is teeming with dark power. Rosalina casts some magic on it to try to purify it, only for the spell to be absorbed. Intrigued, Rosalina continues casting magic on it, all of which is absorbed, but as it absorbs the magic it transforms into Nico--Neko 's interpretation of the outfit . Rosalina senses the dark power in the dress has now attuned itself to her magic - so perhaps now she's in control of it and can safely put it on? She does so, but it turns out it was not safe at all - the dark power flows through her, brainwashing her into believing she is the Shadow Queen.
