Another character from 'Lunatics Unleashed'.

I've been asking myself why it is that this show has struck such a chord with me. First off, I knew it wasn't the characters. I was kind of put off by the voice acting and the plot was nothing new.
The design got me, but not anymore than anything I'd seen before. So, curious, I've been watching through the episodes again and I've found that I was wrong.
It is the characters of this show that caught my attention.
At first glance, they are all the basic stereotypes for a kid's show superhero team.
You've got the leader, the signature girl, the genius, the upstart, the muscle and the happy one.
But for some reason, every so often one of these characters would take a step out of the outline that had been drawn for them.
The character I've drawn here is the upstart. The power hungry, slightly egotistical member who always wants to be the leader and more often then not, ends up the butt of everyone else's jokes.
And yet, he sometimes take a step to be pretty awesome. He stands up to danger with a courage never seen in this character set. He actually acts heroic, and the other characters acknowledge it.
It's these moments outside of the lines of the ordinary that make this show worth a watch.
