A summer photo of the old boy!
I never thought I'd ever be writing this but here I am: Aplari the oldest chicken we ever had has been demoted to second oldest.
She passed 12.10.2018 under 9,5 years old, Ruska has just turned 9,5 years and is now officially the oldest chicken we've ever had.
Only maybe a month or two ago Ruska started spending basically all his time on the ground, we know his legs get tired or are even possibly sore and it seems he's done perching. I have seen him a few times on a lower perch sleeping but he's mostly on the ground now but that's the only thing that has seemed to change.

I was thinking if he's still with us in the summer that I need to build him a shrine 'cause I keep joking that he's an immortal creature (it's been a joke for YEARS, I didn't know he'd get this old) that just really likes pretending to be a rooster. But instead of bringing offerings to the shrine I'd just feed the man himself some treats as long as he's with us!

In the end I didn't really build any shrine but we still let him boss us around lol. Ruska turned 10 years old in the summer of 2022.
