The shader and lighting quality are fantastic, especially on the wings. I think the fuel pods under them however look somewhat inconsistant in a way and are the main point that can break the illusion of realism, I wish I could be more helpful in pinpointing exactly why though.
But again, awesome work, a stunning image :D

Appreciate the critique.Β The pods do seem a tad darker, especially the port wing, but it is in the shadow more.Β The chrome tips might need to be scaled back and darkened?Β Not sure.

What a clean looking Phantom, most of the ones I've seen have this weather beaten, rough look to them. Though I'm used to seeing paintings of them over North Vietnam!

Yes, odd for a Phantom, but the servicemen at the ANG base took impeccable care of these planes.Β They had a tremendous service record for hours flown without mishaps.Β Thanks for commenting.

Though to be fair, the conditions in Vietnam were alot rougher. That and on occasion they were hit with shrapnel and bullets, that might have smudged the paint a little at times. XD

Very true.Β The article I read that I based the picture on really made a point about the cleanliness of the Michigan ANG Phantoms.Β Definitely not detracting from the dirtier Phantoms and the conditions and turnaround expected on them.

Thank you very much.Β I used Bazze's model and started with his skin, but wanted more detail so I went back and redid everything, new bump map, new skin, and new panel lines.

Thanks.Β Always hard to gauge lighting based on different monitors, but I lightened it a touch.
