Air & Space had an article about all the roles the Phantom II has played. One of them was flying chase along side the Gemini launches in the mid 1960's and taking pictures. I'd never heard of this or seen any images of it, all I knew was that both vehicles were moving fast in the vertical and wanted to capture that speed in the image. In researching I found a couple of photos that gave me a decent reference of how the scenario played out and tried to get close to reality while making in interesting image.Phantom model by Bazze

I wasn't aware of that one but it makes sense, and the Phantom is even the right model for the USN to have been doing the flying.

I don't have any good pics. I have a couple of black and whites and some stills from film, that's it. I researched a ton, but never found an solid info on the actual F-4, so I guessed at some of it. You want the pictures I've found, happy to share.
