Description This is a fairly recent drawing that I did of Gambit, one of the X-Men. It started off as a pencil drawing that I increased the contrast on to get some more of the details out of the scan. Gambit has always been one of my favorite characters of the X-men and I wanted to pay homage to his coolness. Enjoy.

This is a much better image for him, I think. Beefy thief? That doesn't make sense. Lean thief? Much better.

Ya know, I don't see a lot of lean Gambits. I discovered that he's much more athletic and cat like than other heroes after doing some character pose studies. Not a lot of artists really capture that aspect of him which is really too bad. I should do some more drawings of him someday and post a higher res version of this pic.

I love gambit he has always been one of my favorite xmen because of his badboy, but good guy attitude if that makes sense. I can't wait to see the new movie wolverine. The guy who plays gambit better not screw up gambits character. Anyway love your drawing, very sexy. ^^

I like the less muscular approach to your Gambit. Lean Gambit > Beefcake Gambit. I really like the head and the folds on the Gambits left arm for his trenchcoat.

Thanks for the critique! I agree, Gambit has always been more of a lean character. I have a whole series of poses that I drew of him somewhere, maybe I should post those? Everyone seems to like Gambit.

Gambit is like the ladies man, everyone likes him! He's like the only X-Man who really knows how to flirt. And of course he's got the hair factor going for him. I vote Gambit as having the best hair of all of the X-Men! Who's with me?

Thanks. Everyone seems to like this picture of Gambit for some reason. Personally I just really liked the head and hair and think that the pose is weak and proportion on the hand is incorrect. It could be much more dynamic. Thanks for the comment though!

Thanks everyone for your generous comments. I'm glad that you like how Gambit turned out. I started by just drawing a sketch of his head really quickly and it turned out MUCH better than I had hoped for, so I transferred it to another piece of paper so that I could finish out the entire figure. I'm fairly happy with how it turned out, but everyone who sees it asks if he's flipping someone off. The answer is NO, that's how he holds his cards, between his fingers!

Very well done. It looks just like I remember seeing him the first time. The flames are great, flowing and seeming almost alive. The shading is well done, using the flames as a light source. Awesome job.
