Description The Conduit Oil on Panel. 36 x 48. Symbolizes a philosophy. an attitude or approach, that emphasizes, courage, letting go, receiving well, finding freedom and peace, openness, vulnerability, being honest with yourself. The lion represents courage, a barbaric force that leads you into honesty even if it draws blood (the blood stained muzzle). The rider is you. the posture represents coming out of hiding and becoming a conduit. a vessel that allows something to channel through it. Living in faith that you will get what you need in this life to the point where you can release. The cracking sky represents a doorway of eternal abundance. The flames in the distance represent the comforts of the familiar that you must be willing to leave. It could be old belief systems or a stifling environment that you got comfortable in. As you pursue your destiny, the warm flames will try to call you back. I devote this painting to those that care about being genuine and uncompromising in their passion and convictions. The ones who care about independence. Having a solid impact, leaving a legacy. Shaking off the devices of those that would try to control you.

I'd like to stick my knitting needle into that torso and watch it deflate, I mean c'mon! Beautiful message though.

Β The journey of the emasculated man toward his forgotten manhood is one I care deeply about, so the emphasis is very intentional

Stupendous Painting.

The man shows an excellent understanding of Anatomyβ€”Great Serratus Anterior and Pec, Delt and Bicep tie-in.

He's muscular without looking Juiced and Reminiscent of Tarzan.

The Lion is also very good...

While the background is just detailed enough to provide interest and contrast without being "Busy".

If I could turn out work like that, all my Novels would come with 20-30 illustrations...

This feedback means a lot to me. thank you for appreciating those aspects because they are ones I care about. I remember the old tarzan novels. particularly the lord of the apes. the illustrations of Tarzan on the cover left an impression.

Gorgeous painting, and powerful meaning behind it as well. I love the fact that you post the meanings of your paintings. It helps me (personally) get a deeper sense of the painting, and really FEEL something on a deeper level when looking at the painting. It is quite pleasing to the eye, and the meanings behind them are pleasing to the soul. Overall splendid work, and I am a huge fan of your work.

Thank you. I almost destroyed this painting on two separate occasions. It remains, what I consider my most important painting, and has played a key role in altering my course as an artist, and more importantly, my identity as an artist.

I cannot express the depth of gratitude I feel towards you for allowing this painting to survive your destructive impulse.

I find your work inspiring, enigmatic, masterful, and beautiful (a rare combination.)

Any work which alters the course of the artist, is always a necessary work. When the work itself demands attention from its creator, to be destroyed or revered, those works are always the most significant...and the most torturous. For within them the artist is confronted with a mirror.

As artists, we reflect the darkest and brightest parts of the world, the world we perceive and inhabit, our world as artists.

I salute you.
