From one of 's recommended favorite cat pose. Thank you!To draw white whisker, at first I thought of using sepia conte but the white conte would got mixed with underlying colors when lined over it.
So I bought a white pen which got better performance and succeeded in drawing highlight on the pupil. But with the whiskers maybe the underlying sepia ink didn't dry completely and the white color got mixed with it to make a mess.

Zig Real Brush - bright yellow
Diamine ink - Syrah (for fountain pen)

No, it was a photo from other deviant user. My cat is 14 years old. From memory, kittenhood only lasts 3 or 4 months. Wish it was 3 or 4 years instead.

..Oh my goodness. This is so adorable!! I love the eyes and the cute little arms xD and the fur, especially around the face. Sepia was a good idea. I wish I could draw cats like this!

Maybe you should try drawing cats as well. When I had my cat, I fell in love with her and really wanted to draw cats. They have graceful body. At first it was too much fur all over and faces are too hard. I don't know, at one moment it kind of clicked and the drawings started to look like a cat.

The click moment for me was that I realize one can draw in lines but also can draw in shades. cat drawing practice From the cat face in the left corner, its right eye was drawn in lines and the left is drawn in shade. That was my click moment and the cat face drawn in middle far left was drawn in shades. It may not work for you but I hope it helps somewhat.

Yea, I am glad my explanation makes some sense. I don't know maybe because cats' body is covered in furs so outlines are not that clear compared to people. Once I draw my cat with that method, somehow I was able to draw cats better. Nabi - color pencil drawing
And around that time, my friend studying art recommended me to draw with a conte pencil (sepia color) and a charcoal pencil (black). Their drawing feelings are different and using it makes you feel like you are an artist. You should try them also.
