Description
This time the picture is a kind of fanart for the (German) Zelda RPG "Zelda Chronicles ". It's the last year's christmas gift for my soulmate and writing partner EvelynJade and will have some further purpose as soon as I'm finished with it, too. So far it has been the most time-consuming and difficult one I've made in this style. Yet I'm quite pleased with the result. :3

The content of the illustration takes place twenty-seven years after the beginning of OoT. Link is in his late thirties and has gone through some pretty mess (he's outlaw, has to hide his identity and calls himself Zyron). Recently Ganondorf has returned after he'd absorbed Demise's powers and grabbed the kingdom of Hyrule - including Link's new love interest, a reincarnation of Hylia as well as Zelda.

In particular, the Princess of Destiny was murdered years ago during his absence; what caused his banishment, because the king blamed him among other things for not protecting her enough as it would have been his duty as her husband.

Unfortunately the Master Sword has broken due to a series of calamitous events and has to be forged anew, for what Link has to collect three magical stones. The picture is about this situation.

It is EvelynJade 's favourite version - I've some others with minor differences and without the text (by the way, the text has indeed a meaning and is not only a senseless letter string). Link's stubble was hilarious, I've to admit I snuckled constantly about it like a fool while I was drawing ... xD

(Main reference was the prologue of TWW, the background texture is from croix22 (the account is deactivated ...). The worn out looking lines are the result of filters and layers in Photoshop. The picture is from December 2013 and because of some major delays I finished it not until Christmas; later on I changed some details.)
