What a momentous occasion. My first time drawing tack. I feel like my innocence was lost...or something.

As to the picture, I feel like training can sometimes go bad, but still be 'good'. You know, learn from your mistakes. I think we're all learning a little something today.

The sky was darkening outside, the wind starting to rustle up the previous day's snow, obscuring the forest that sat right outside Hollow Grove. Rowena gave a little shiver, and Jamison smiled warmly, patting her on the shoulder. "The sooner you beat this time, the sooner you get to go in." He murmured, handing her the lead rope that was attached to Finn. "I fought we was takin' Epona wiv us to London, ya?" She said, twirling the rope around absentmindedly, Finn occasionally trying to lip at it as it swung by.

"Yes..." Jamison said, looking at her expectantly, seemingly watching her skin get pinker and pinker in the cold afternoon air. "But we might be taking Finn to Maine. I would rather you work on him, as the stakes are higher. I also want you used to him. His mouth doesn't give at all." He dangled a pair of spurs off his fingers, the metal looking quite dull under the oppressive grey clouds.

Rowena wasn't quite sure what that meant. Epona went flying with pressure to her sides, without spurs. Jamison had told her that they didn't want to desensitize her too much and the spurs might cause something a bit more dangerous than sprinting. "How d'ya..." Rowena started before Jamison leaned down and put one spur on for her. She huffed, a puff of condensation escaping from her painted lips as she grabbed the other one, putting it on herself. "He also needs to get used to the cold. I know at least some of the events are outdoors. Remember to warm him up, don't just jump in." He told her, before walking off.

She arched a finely manicured brow at his back before looking at Finn who was hopelessly trying to grab the end of the rope that was dangling in front of his face. "Yer a bright one aren't ya?" She said as she led him to the hitching rail and tied him up, going in to grab his tack. As she went in, she saw a very shiny, light new saddle with silver and black horse hair decorating it. Rowena grabbed it, figuring she might as well get used to that too. Getting back at Finn's side, she threw the pad and saddle on him, tying the cinch as well as she could remember, before putting on his bridle and leading him to the round pen.

There, she found the barrels, also referred to as old rusted oil drums, already set up for her. She mounted up and started him at a nice walk around the ring. "This is bollocks." She muttered under her breath to Finn, who seemed to be happy to walk along. He kept looking back at the barn, though, as if wondering if someone was going to come with them. Rowena tried to direct him, but he clamped down on the bit. "Oi! Give it up!" She said, giving him a few sharp tugs, which he ignored completely. Her brows furrowed. Clearly, she was not in the mood for this.

Giving him a light tap with the spurs, Finn set off at a nice jog, cutting some corners to get to the side of the barn quicker. He neighed, and a few muffled neighs came from inside. "Oh no. You're gonna suffer right wiv me, ya." Rowena told him, before giving him another jab and he started into a lope. Both of them wanted to be done soon enough, so she started on the pattern that she now knew like the back of her hand. Finn found that he wasn't particularly inspired in the cold weather, so after a few runs with a pathetic time, five seconds below the goal, Rowena got fed up and gave him a sharp jab with the spurs. He took off, and not expecting it, she wobbled a bit. This wobbling made Finn go off balance, his hind legs faltering and driving into the wet ground ungracefully, the rest of him over correcting as Rowena found herself flying through the air, the saddle falling away from her. Desperately, she grabbed at Finn's body, her thighs wrapping around his barrel and her arms clamped around his neck. He slowed down to a frisky trot as she tried to right herself,

Within moments, Jamison was out of the barn and over the fence, hearing the 'barrel' going flying and clattering against another. His eyes were wide as he took the pair in, but not nearly as wide as Rowena's. Her hands were shaking as she held the reins, riding over to Jamison as if on auto-pilot. "Are you alright?" He asked, helping her down from the saddle. She wandered off without saying anything, her whole body tense. Finn nickered at Jamison and lipped at his hair merrily.

Jamison got on and cooled him down from his misadventure, finding with a sigh of relief that Finn seemed fine from his ungraceful collision with both the barrel and the ground. It would seem that the only thing hurt that day was Rowena's pride.

Thanks. I realize now that I should have shown his front legs tripping up too, but I figured this was somewhat after he recovered. Oh well.

Thank you! :3 I had a rough time with how awkward those back legs looked but with all the dust and other stuff going on I think they pull it off just enough. 8D

Thank you. :3 I feel like it's hard not to make everything stiff, but at least with Finn his ridiculous back legs seem to save him. lol

This is wonderful. For a first time drawing tack, you did a really good job, and Rowena's pose is really good as well. I also love the way you have drawn her, as well as her chav dialog. I love it!

Thank you very much. The tack was such a problem. -___- I redrew it three times until finally I was like 'well, that's it. That's all I can do for it'. Drawing someone flying off a horse is rather fun actually.

I am happy with how I drew her as well. She was surprisingly easy. But I guess everything is compared to the tack. xD

I have too much fun with her dialogue. It's just hilarious.
