well, because people usually use photoshop and the like to create such fine art. Even among the free ones firealpaca is not that popular for painting since it's not quite developed (few brushes and layer mode, etc)
but nevertheless I love firealpaca very much myself XD

Β I especially like that it's still in development, because I can learn all the features as they are being added. Β Photoshop and gimp just drive me crazy with all those optionsΒ Β
