I was originally going to call this "Drinking The Kool Aid", but I didn't want to use a brand-name product as the title. (I know, I'm weird like that xD)Leona is another character of mine. I hope the title doesn't make her sound too stupid haha. I just wanted an excuse to draw her again ^_^

I've been drawing since I was four, but don't let that discourage you. I know of a guy who started drawing as an adult in college and became a concept artist within a few years!

"drinking the kool aid" makes me think of something completely different, but it would still definitely be applicable to this image
at least, the floating pitchers pouring color into your hair would be the onset of the kool aid taking effect

So do you work in watercolor first and then retouch in Photoshop? Lovely clear effects all of your work has, I'm just curious.

Thank you! The lines are done in pencil, colored in Photoshop, then I use traditional media resources to finalize the image. So it starts traditional, goes to digital, then wraps back around ^_^

I first learned of him through Death Note as well. Then I found out that he has worked on a lot of other series: Hikaru no Go, All You Need Is Kill, and some illustrations for Castlevania, just to name a few ^_^ I especially love how he draws the human face.

Yeah all you need is kill is sort of unknown. I doubt many people know that "Edge of Tomorrow" with Tom Cruise is an adaptation.
