What the hell is Sara drawing now, you might ask? Well this is fanart from a VERY obscure anime called "Ping Pong Club." Now normally, I HATE anime with the hot white intensity of a thousand suns but there are exceptions - this is one of them.Basically, it's a show with very little plot other than there's a group of junior high students that join a ping pong club and are very sexually frustrated. The show has been called "the Japanese South Park" so that alone is reason enough to watch it. The humor is wonderfully off-beat and sick, as is the art. I mean, this stuff is meme-worthy:

Now these two apple-monkeys are the main characters - Maeno and Izawa (both boys, Izawa is in drag. They do that a lot.) Maeno and Izawa are, from what I can gather, are Japan's answer to Beavis and Butthead except WAY gayer. I ship them like fed ex. This piece is a reference this shining moment:

If none of this gets you to torrent the hell out of this show, my dreams of this show developing a fandom are dashed.

I do know a series a bit similar to Ping Pong Club called Cromartie High School, about very buff and adult-looking students doing everyday crap. And Freddie Mercury sometimes appears.

Colorful is another one of those crudely drawn animes that only I seem to like because no one ever talks about it. The whole thing is kind of a surrealist comedy done in short sketches about two guys trying to look up womens skirts. And that's it. It's sort of a commentary about sexual harassment in Japan and I LOVE IT. Unlike PPC, you can find the english dub on youtube. Give it a watch, it's good.
Oh I know Cromartie High! I've only seen one episode but I liked what I saw.

Ever heard of Oruchuban Ebichu? That series has a South Park-like sense of humor, albeit with a talking hamster and lots of crudely-drawn nudity and sex.
