so... this drawing takes place when he just came back home after the 2nd continental congress (the one that ratified the Declaration of Independance), a congress he wanted, in fact, to leave as soon as possible, because a congress during which Martha had a miscarriage and stayed into bed during weeks, too weak and ill *away from him*

It's Thomas and Martha Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson was one of the authors of the American Declaration of Independence and the third president of the United states who had a beautiful and tragic love story with his wife (Which these pictures have made me aware of. So lovely and sad!)

Wow...i never honestly cared for the presidents of the united states, let alone their love lives from 2 and a quarter centuries ago!
um...just out of curiosity, what got you interested in Jefferson and his wife? it just seems like...i don't know, not odd, but not common for people to think about them, and i'm really wondering what it was that sparked such beautiful fanart about their love life.

in fact, i watched the mini-serie 'John Adams' and Thomas Jefferson is in a few scenes. and as i'm french i knew very little about American Revolution. So i wanted to learn more about TJ.

This is really romantic, I say that because at times men need emotional support as much as women, and when i chat with my lady i tell her this some times and she tells me, because in a good relationship, both parties should be there at times; if not physically so much for sure in heart and spirit! I hope this following comparison does not offend you in anyway, but in the second panel, Thomas reminds me of the supporting character 'Thomas' from Pocahontas who interestingly enough has red hair in the movie.
Aside from that, I do adore where you are going with this couple's story. I never actually knew about the personal life of Thomas Jefferson until you submitted your first deviation about him and his wife. I sincerely hope that you continue with your work.
