Apparently I canβt draw new things unless Iβm in a moving vehicle, so have a cleaned-up and colored old thing. Not a ~really~ old thing, like a week-old thing. But still a thing. That I kind of like. I might recolor it more painterly-like eventually, if I can figure out how to make Kanaya look all glowy.Also I stole the title from this pretty thing: [link] by this pretty fantastic person:

Thank you terribly, friend! I'm so happy you like it, since your pretty music was responsible for it! You're so right, though, Kan darling's hair takes a bit of spatial reorganization to figure out. I always have issues trying to get it to swoop right at the sides. She's one of my favorites to draw despite it, even though her hair gets me to abandon many a sketch if I can't get it to look right

I don't know how you do that Nep icon, but that's Damn Cool, too! I'm also really enjoying the hands in the piece: how they look, how they are holding each other. The composition is just wonderful. You're really finding your stride as an artist!

Very cool! I will try it sometime! Nep's is the best of the lot, tho! I'm just so glad you like the song... which part do you enjoy most? It was fairly tricky to write two separate pieces and keep in mind how to mix them together... when I tried overlaying the drum tracks for the first time and it actually WORKED, I knew the song had a chance!
Your friend here is right: those are some seriously clean lines! I also like how you have their heads touching; it looks just right.

As for the song, I LOVE the little call-and-response and how the two melodies and the drumbeat interweave at the denouement. It fits so well for the two of them separately as well as together and it makes me do this ridiculous little smile whenever I play it because I have all of these welling-up feelings about an alien vampire and snarky human girl being in love. <3 Let me post a legitimate comment on the Vriska piece itself, rather than here

Man... just listening to "Duo Deae" and enjoying at your wonderful art right now. Boy, you really did get it right. Kan's ears look really cool now that I have a good look at them (I don't think there's any greater variation among the fans than how troll ears look... so many ideas!). Also, curious about your "height-canon"; I hadn't considered Kan taller, but always did see Rose as a shorter person... I rather like this! For a long time, I was quietly worrying if Hussie had a strange surprise for us all and there would be a HUGE height difference between the kids and trolls (like Avatar or something). Now that they've met, it seems not to be the case, thankfully!

I love drawing the seadwellers' fin-ears :3 I was doodling Fef and Eridan the other morning and sitting there like, "MAN, do I love these kids' ears!" XD Noses, not so much, but ears are fun! The rest of 'em I just kind of give pointy ears, but the length varies with lower bloods having shorter ears and the higher bloods have longer, sharper points at the tips. Only as kids, though--the older they get the more I picture their ears kind of equalizing. Omg, I never realized how specifically I'd thought about their ears!
I've always pictured Rose petite, too, and the shortest of the Beta kids. For the troll girls, my height headcanon from shortest to tallest is Nepeta, Terezi, Aradia, Feferi, Kanaya, and Vriska. I can never decide on the guys', though. The only ones I'm really sure of is liking Karkat be the the shortest and Equius the tallest. I can't decide if I like Gamzee short and Tavros tall (if he could stand) or the other way around. Sollux and Eridan can just flop around being the middle-height guys.

I look forward to it! Already laying down some groundwork for "33" (or "sw33t cr33per" as a working title?) while it's fresh in my head. Also talked to my guitar player friend (the one who did both electric and acoustic guitars on Tarantella di Vriska) about doing a blues piece about the Felt and he's on board, too. We have another collab we started, but for some reason, I can't do anything BUT Homestuck music right now! I may have to steer that tune in this direction to finish it..
I initially didn't like the fin ears when Hussie introduced us to Eridan and Feferi, but I sure enjoyed them a lot more when I saw them drawn realistically. I like your noses, too... some fan artists tend to exaggerate them too much and then REALLY colour them in, which just makes them look... drunk (like if someone colours a human nose red)? Your Kanaya nose was just right. I will look for sharper and pointer ears on your seadwellers from here on, too!
Your height headcanon matches mine pretty darn closely; bang on with the girls, and I do see Gamzee as lanky and tall, personally.
For some reason, I tend to forget about Aradia, although I do like her. I have a feeling that the "Time" players may not make it out of this story alive, which will be quite tragic, especially in her case. However, let's see how you draw her now (curious to see your Vriska, too), unless of course they all end up as Neps again! XD I won't complain...

Awww! I am a fan of this working title and the subject it implies! I'd never know where to begin making music for the Felt, now I'm psyched to see what you come up with! I can't wait 'til these new pieces are put together! And I totally feel you on not being able to work on anything else right now. My gallery's a testament to that!
I couldn't figure out if they were gills or ears or what at first! Gills might actually make more sense, but eh, they've been ears to me for so long now that ears are how they're gonna stay.
I hope Dave and Aradia make it! Aradia's already been put through so much I'll be super sad if she's got to take the brunt of much more. And Dave's 'died' so many times in different timelines I wouldn't want to see anything else like that happen to him, either. Time will tell, I guess, if you'll pardon the pun, and whether or not the Huss's feeling charitable in the end. But who'm I kidding, the Huss's never feeling charitable to his characters!
