There is as much room in fanon as there are fans to ship it.
I'm sure TOKO fans have created a rich and romantic 'ship' STORY for these 2.
I mean, once they grow up ... the age difference doesn't mean crap.
And their brief interactions on the show were pretty awesome. (Except the worst field trip EVER.)

It would be easy for Toph to end 'arguments.'
With an equally matched waterbender, for example,
they could freeze/melt back and forth ALL NIGHT LONG.
But Toph could just seal Zuko in rock when she's 'done.'

He could superheat it and explode it outwards...the pair could make an awful mess in their arguments. But think of the advantages she could take with him if she trussed him up against a wall...

But they don't seem to bicker in the show like he does with the other females...he argued with Mai more than he argued with Toph...and let's not start on his arguments with Katara. Though those were mostly when they were on opposing sides...once he changed he pretty much took all her abuse like he thought he deserved it. It probably bugged the hell out of her...he never gave her and excuse to go all water-whippy on his arse.

Toph just seemed to be a calming influence. Maybe their two snarky attitudes cancel each other out or something.

And yes...she needs a better field trip. And she might have gotten one if Sokka hadn't hogged him for two episodes! But then, they didn't have the history like he had with the other three. The only time he ever shot fire at her, burning her feet aside, was when he was all angry and weepy over the injured Iroh...and that wasn't an actual attack. I might have to do something about that...

And yeah...once they grow up a bit...12/16 sounds a huge gap...but 20/24 (as in the pic here) is fine.

A four year age difference is also the same as the one between my mum and dad...so it's got a strage little personal connection for me

Advantage Toph. Zuko can't melt rock.
But I'm sure if you ask nicely, he'll let you tie him up.

Aw, come on, he doesn't bicker with Katara that's just sexual tension.

By the time Zuko met Toph, he was already changing into the good prince.
And compared to Azula he was just some lost kid without direction.
[Who sometimes shoots fire and makes everyone tense when he shows up.]
But he's with her tea drinking stranger friend, so he can't be all bad.

One of my favorite Zuko/Toph moments was in the f'ing EIP episode.
I love it when she smacks him. It's how she shows affection.


My parents are 10 years apart in age! They've been divorced for decades.
I've dated guys 4 years younger and older than me. But I still haven't found what I'm looking for.

I also love Toph's face. she looks so maternal that I almost forgot Toph is blind.

Yeah...Zuko can't seem to catch a break...no matter who he ends up with they all seem to want to hurt him if he does something they don't like...
