I actually prefer this look of Sonic than the games because heβs more expressive, adorable and awesome at the same time, and this look is more better and cooler than the one from the games.

Finally, I have someone I can agree with! I've never found Sonic's mono-eye to be that appealing, as they tend to degrade his expressiveness. So giving him two separate eyes, to me anyway, is a bit of a godsend.
