Just a sketch of my comic character Carrie Sinclair, from my comic title Carrie and the Magnetism (which is not out yet but will be very soon).Done on Art Academy for the DSi.

I find it difficult to do the detailed things like the eyes pupil with art academy. How did you "solve" that with the details?

What I tend to do is fully load the smallest brush, then cycle through the different styles of small brush till I find the one that's the thinnest (there's different streakiness settings as you press on a brush size over and over again). I then tap, ever so lightly, making sure I don't draw until the brush gets big. Then, NO water. Sometimes I use water, but only when mixing things in detail. Short, sharp strokes, over and over again.
And a lot of fixing up bad strokes that happen by accident sometimes!

I am loving how I can almost figure out what her bloodlines are. Her very distinct traits remind of greek or italian but I'm probably way off. Great hair detail, very smooth, flowing and tight.

It's so funny you should say that! A lot of my own facial features end up in my character's faces, and my own ancestry is Scottish, German and Maltese. The Maltese comes through very strongly in my face, which is what you're probably seeing in Carrie's face!
I'd never thought of Carrie's ancestry before, but now I have to figure it out. Thanks!
