Yeah I've heard that a lot. I spend too much time practising drawings wounds n blood instead of more important issues, like backgrounds. Thats why all my backgrounds pretty much suck. xD

I fail at backgrounds, though I've probably only done like 3. I should practice my gore, since it always makes wolf art look awesome. What do you use to do the blood, I only use coloured pencils but the blood always looked just placed on the fur not actually like its sunken or smeared into the fur.

My advice is to always use liquids if you are drawing liquids, like water or blood. You can colour with colour pencils as you normally do, but I recommend to use watercolours or acrylics (or any other paint) for the blood to make it look wet and disgusting.
