How did I not notice this when you posted it on tumblr?! That hand is a perfect hand! It is so expressive and simultaneously perfectly A Hand, the fingers work and it goes together properly and it is the gesture of someone in exactly his position and wow holy hell that is a beautiful beautiful hand
I mean I love the rest of this too but DAT HAND
(I also am really really fond of the subtle texture especially visible on his shirt, and the smooth colourful lines that really look like IRL marker, and WOW THE LINE QUALITY ESPECIALLY ON HIS KNEES. asdf; this is (part of) why I look up to you so much as an artist, so much motion such pretty lines it all looks so effortless yet perfect ;_; )

It's kind of gratifying that you like that hand so much, because it's a hand I ended up giving up on, more or less? I mean I didn't dislike how it came out, but it was the result of a lot of erasing and redrawing and eventually deciding I didn't care how it looked. so wow jeez I'm glad it ended up okay! (the left hand was the same deal, but it's more apparent because I didn't try nearly as many times before giving up.)
as for the textures, it's just laziness! I use the same textured brush for the lines as I do for coloring it in, but actually this isn't an excuse I use it for coloring because I like the texture too. it barely shows but kind of picks up a piece a little. I change my mind about it being because of laziness, although it's still lazy.

Team Charge is not particularly well-coordinated or prone to athletics at all, but they win badminton by virtue of being less a heaving plate of failure spaghetti than the Equius-Nepeta moirallegiance.
Did you ever watch Disney's Tarzan? The scene where Jane and Tarzan first meet and are being chased by a horde of monkeys? Jane scrambling up onto Tarzan's shoulders and wrapping her feet around his throat; that's what this reminded me of.
I find this picture very amusing, and gosh Nepeta you crazy cat girl wearing that coat out to play badminton!!

~cheappirate and I spent a solid 15 minutes talking about this badminton game before I drew this- nepeta jumping onto equius' shoulders to get the long shots and missing was her idea, but it was my favorite of the bunch so I drew it. nepeta could have easily gotten that shot by running to the back of the court but she jumps onto equius every time anyways. equius is more or less useless and alternates between spiking the birdie and missing it entire but stumbling due to the force of his swing. tavros doesn't even bother moving his wheelchair and just swings his arms around, so aradia covers him. she's the best of the group but in the grand scheme she's not a particularly impressive player. nepeta hits tavros easy shots, and equius refuses to do the same and says so loudly while nepeta shushes him because tavros is right there.
I thought all that was so funny, I hope you don't mind me sharing.
and I haven't seen tarzan all the way through since I was pretty little, but I actually DO remember that scene, by some miracle!
