Yeah, maybe they just show their appreciation in a different way. I show mine by stalking artists I like and commenting on like EVERYTHING they post with long rambling posts, but maybe they do it differently. I really don't know much about that obscure part of Japanese culture. Some things you just have to be Japanese to know, unfortunately.
I guess that's why American manga only sells half as well as Japanese manga. It may be drawn in the same style and have an intriguing plot line, but it's just NOT Japanese, and I think that both the Japanese and the American's sense that. It may not nesecarrily be a bad thing to not be Japanese, and even if you are, the manga world is REALLY PICKY, but I guess it's just kind of expected from a manga artist if you really want to go somewhere with it.

Well, certainly don't intend to ape manga conventions wholesale XP I have a mix of styles going in the comic I'm doing, but it's more due to what I *like* than what manga or western comics are supposed to be about.

Of course. I was just explaining why I thought that your picture wasn't getting as much of a reaction from the Japanese. Don't let that stop you from pursuing what you want to do.
I love your style just the way it is.

OHOHOHO~ well, that's just cuz I know a lot of French, most Spanish means nothing to me |D But hey, it might be useful to know some random phrases... if y'know, I ever go to Chile...

Ah...French. I had a couple of years of French back in middle school (or the equivalent) but I was never too good at it.
Chilean Spanish is pretty much a mixture of:
-slang based on animals
-diminutives
-swear words
-words sliced in half
XD

Really? I've always thought French and Spanish and English are really similar xD Latin languages stick together, man.
Hey, that's actually something I've been meaning to ask you about, how exactly did you become so fluent in both Japanese and English on top of Spanish? Just so I can go back in time and force myself to do the same out of curiosity :3
LOL slang in my part of America seems to be just speaking in internet memes |D

Well, I went to a bilingual school from throughout most of my education....the lessons were completely in English in primary school (6 to 13 years old)
Japanese on the other hand is the result of five years of classes...which isn't enough for me to be an expert, heh XD Maybe one day...

Oh well, that would probably make a difference xD Wish I'd been raised in a bilingual school... silly America~
You seem to be quite good at it though, not that I'm really the best judge xD

Well, Colloquial Japanese is the most difficult part for me, the language in academic papers, articles and such (the stuff used for practice in class) can actually be clearer, since everything is spelled out.
(.....I suppose I am not that bad at it, fufu XD )

Yeah, you really have to be immersed in the language in order to pick up the little changes in slang and such xD
Waaaaayyy better than I am, at any rate xD
