Description
Atlantis sits on the pad nervously staring at the blue sky right in front of him. He is whether to be scared or excited, for this was his first launch. He remembered what Columbia and Discovery told about their first launch. With all that knowlage of what will and should happen, he still was a scared. He wanted to be perfect. He could picture the launches of them. "5 mintues to go" said the NASA officals on the radio. "Oh my gawd! I am not ready for this" he thought. "I'm right here. Don't you worry about a thing. I'll be right here" said a smooth calming voice...it was Columbia. "omg, Columbia! I am not ready for this, I..." "Its normal to feel this way. I was too" For some strange reason Atlantis could not think that Columbia was nervous during her launch. "I know, but..." Columbia peck Atlantis's cheek. "you'll do fine"30...29...28...27...26......"I am ready for this" a more confident Atlantis said "I AM READY!!" FEAR ME WORLD!"
15...14...13...12...10...."Good Luck, Atlantis, baby!" exclaimed Pathfinder (another shuttle/Atlantis girlfriend)
5...4...main engine start....3...2....1.....Blast off!

Just a little story about Atlantis's first launch....I did this pic a while ago...loved how it turned out.....so i decided to post it, since there is not much space shuttle art here on DA..

Oh I see Explorer is a model shuttle for tourists. I also found 2 other obiters! Sadly they will most likely never be completed or flown

You are not alone although I picture Discovery as the only female..but I never put Pathfinder into play...another girl would be nice to have....OMG I think I just got an idea!YAY Pathfinder can be the girl that likes Atlantis alot and he doesnt much care for her *so he thinks* and ya...kinda like that girl back in the 1st grade that would always want to hug or kiss you then she would chase you around the yard all recess long

haha...I think that Discovery,Atlantis,Endeavour, and Explorer are males. And Columbia, Challenger, Enterprise, and Pathfinder are females.
OMFG, its like i have a twin! That is kinda what i had in mind between Pathfinder and Atlantis...but i took a different approach

Explorer? Is that another shuttle simulator? Anyways I can see how people would think Columbia is a girl because its kinda a girly name but because I see Columbia as the leader of the fleet I can see more male than female. Challenger to me doesnt seem like a good name for a girl but I can relate because I had an idea way back that Columbia(still had him and a he) and Challenger were inlove with one another

Explorer is the shuttle at KSC. Yeah, I see what you mean. I pretty much based my decision on the names. I just wanted equal number of males and females, that way each one had a pairing

Yeah I looked it up. That pretty cool! Now theres an exmaple of one at the "Space Center" (the kid attraction thing beside the Johnson Space Center) Dont think its has a name though..its only the front i believe..im not sure it was awhile ago since I was in Houston

to tell you the truth, it really wasn't that tricky....i think this was either my first or second drawing of a shuttle....maybe the only tricky part were the circles.....but i tried it...
