For outdoor stuff yeah. Indoor is usually lights and reflective cards.

Softimage comes with Mental Ray so thats the one i stick with for now...

Well, softimage is getting Arnold soon, played with the beta version of it. Its a million times faster than MentalGay. Would be awesome to use vray, but i dont have Maya or Max, and i prefer softimage's overall userbility over them...

I'm trying to find the details that give it away, but it just looks so real. Great render! It looks very realistic. The lighting is great and nothing it too extreme to look unnatural.
