In which a Spinosaurus has blocked off a tidal outflow to catch fish retreating with the outgoing tide. For my post inferring underwater walking or "punting" as the locomotion for Spinosaurus: antediluviansalad.blogspot.com…

Probably your best drawing so far, and one of my new favorite pieces of art depicting Spinosaurus !

Thanks I spent like two hours shading Spinos lip... bonus points for identifying that film reference.

Well, it was worth it, you did a really great job. Also, I love the Weichselia, probably the first restoration of them I've ever seen .

Hmm...I've no idea .

You the man!! I also drew some indeterminate coelacanth types and dromaeosaurids... I recall some teeth from dromaeosaurids found there? Anyways your references came in handy and you should compile a book on Kem-Kem/Cenomanian N. African fauna.

Haha, I noticed the dromaeosaur and the coelocanth but wasn't sure about the later.

I can't recall dromeosaur teeth, but I worked mostly on Bahariya stuff and less Kem Kem fossils

Oh, and recently a paleontologist and friend of mine wrote a longer blog article about Masikasaurus and he included
also a little bit your and mine ideas, he also mentioned you and links to  your article: www.dgf-magazin.de/index.php/m…

Really nice post, I was waiting for this one quite some time already after you posted your previous article about Spinosaurus.
It's just remarkable how special Spinosaurus is for a theropod when it comes to aquatic adaptations. I hope more people will read about it so there maybe gets some art made about this behaviour. I'm definitely planning on doing so.

THANKS, if you read between the lines in the post - actually not really any need to as I make it pretty obvious - I pretty much call out professional paleoartists to give this interpretation a crack. My style is my style - a little coarse - and I am not going to change that or grow into a master painter over night. But >insert artist of your choice< with a more refined style could really make some beautiful and stunning images of say a Spino underwater punting or in an elegant pose midwater stride.

You're welcome

It would indeed be awesome to see the professionals putting their effort in it.
Not that your style is bad of course, I think your drawings are good in giving us a good look at what we're supposed to illustrate. Especially when it comes to behaviour or things a skeleton doesn't show you.
