Terra Drakes, though they do fly and breath fire, are well known for their love of simple ground living. They live in caves and burrows with plenty of hoarded materials, often times with a mate and sometimes with young.

However, regardless of popular belief, Terra Drakes do not get their common name from their scientific name (Daconis Terra Phobos). ‘Terra’ is actually an alteration of common English word ‘terri’fied. Terra Drakes are often startled by simple things, and often appear frightened.

The change in the name from Terri Dragon to Terra Drake occurred when scholars, either wishing to make dragons out to be horrible monsters or noble beasts deemed ‘Terri’ unsuitable for such creatures and gradually re-named the species until today, where it is the commonly accepted name.
