Description A Refuge From The Storms of Life - Image of the LDS Temple with Sky Overlay

This is a watercolor with metallic paint and decoupage. The painting is meant to symbolize that the temple is a place of refuge, and we leave the storms of life outside. It can also mean that the temple and by extension, the gospel is a beacon to a dark world. I modeled the temple after the LDS Temple in the Washington DC area. From Jan. 29th to March 27, 2011 this original painting will be on display at the Washington DC Temple Visitor's Center "Fulfill The Vision" Juried Art Exhibit.

Wow, it's an an art show? Nice

I love the different textures we can see here, and the way the glowy-ness of the temple stands out above all the dark clouds. I don't know if you call it shading, since part of it's decoupage, but I really like the different tones, and agree with the others who said it sort of looks like stained glass. Great job!

me likes...this is my mom's temple from her mission...then my brother's, too, even though he served a different mission. Quite pretty.

I like the washed out style; it does kind of remind me of stained glass, like *Nebulan said
