Description On Friday, we had to put one of our 11-month-old kittens to sleep. He had severe leukemia and wasn't going to recover. It was quite unexpected...he was such a vibrant and playful kitten. It hit suddenly this week and it was only a couple days before he could go on no more.

His sister, Spook, has tested positive for leukemia, but it hasn't started to affect her yet. The vet gave us interferon to strengthen her immune system and buy her more time. It's a 50/50 shot of whether she'll get it or not...Hopefully she'll be around for many more years.

Last Spring Break we put our 18-year-old cat to sleep for a sarcoma in her mouth. This is two years in a row that we've put a cat to sleep over Spring Break. So...Spring Break really sucks. Let's not make it three years, eh? I'd gladly give up Spring Break if it meant our pets would not die, but sadly it does not work that way.

Miss you, Tut. Have fun on that Rainbow Bridge, big guy.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your cat is okay. *hug* We lost our 18-year-old cat to an oral sarcoma. We could have treated it, but at her age the treatment would have been worse suffering for her.

vet has said she has probably sarcoma for vaccinations, but maybe she can be saved.

I'm so sorry March 2007 was when we had to put down my 13 year old cat, Thurber. He had mouth cancer I think...it was also on spring break. I had him my whole life. And my other 17 year old cat (also I had him my whole life) will join starclan...he is loosing to much weight, he won't eat..he is just bones. Amazing pic though!

It's definitely not easy to lose any pet, especially a young one.
