I was stationed out there in 89' and never got to see such a view... Then in Alaska in 91 and 98 both short 2 week trips.... I was able to photograph a few bears then, but I must say, no where near as skilled as yours. I'll be adding you to my "watch list". I'm impressed.

not only is this an amazing thing to see, you were fortunate enough to have good lighting too. I bet your heart was pounding man, i've seen some crazy things in nature and few things compare to the rush... i've never seen anything like this before tho.

As usual a wonderful capture full of energy and action. I love the detail and color of it. How close were you to them? I have had my close encounters with bears ( some shots in my gallery) and they are amazing creatures.

its great that you can see the spray of sand particles and the string of saliva, and of coarse the fluffs of loose fur - they definitely make it much more real
