Description
A personal project. Castle Grayskull fully opens from behind to reveal a play area with floors, dungeon and working draw bridge. There is also a hidden door on the side and a hidden room on the top of the skull.The castle measures 19" x 20" x 17.5"

Hey dude, I got some Lego Masters of the Universe figures as a present for Christmas, they're not official but third party, but I don't know where you can find them, perhaps eBay.Β

When I was a kid I used to make Star Wars vehicles out of Lego then one day the real Lego got the Star Wars license. Everything old is not only new again these days but they all make billions, all these Marvel stories that have been around for a long time, so at one point someone might make a billion dollar He-Man movie and if they do they just might license the rights to Lego.Β
That said, a lot of third party products are actually better than the officially licensed things, look up 3rd party Transformers toys or custom cosplay gear, some people were so impressed with poor quality official products they decided to do it themselves.Β

Agreed. A couple of years back Megabloks had a Castle Grayskull at Comic Con but as far as I know it never went into production.

Also, is it to minifig scale?

This is to mini-figure scale. If a minifig was the size of a he-man figure my castle would twice the size of the Castle Grayskull toy. As for LEGO ideas, i don't think this model would be affordable plus the copyright belongs to Mattel and they are in League with Megabloks.

This thing is huge. Even if I could get building instructions for this it would not be affordable in any way.

I too neglect to make notes or take pictures of things I build, but how did you afford yours? I spend $200 at a time on Hot Toys high end action figures when I want them so if I did choose to commit to building a Lego set of this sizeΒ I would be able to pay for it, the only problem would be finding the time away from work and family to actually do it.Β

I was able to build such a large scale project because I worked for LEGO. For 5 years I was a model builder for them. I did this as part of my professional development. The goal was for me to concept, design and build a full model.Β (Maybe I should add this to the description)

Yeah man that makes this even cooler, this isn't a fan build this is a rejected prototype. Since yesterday I have found that there are quite a few Lego Castle Grayskull concepts out there and some are smaller in scale so that's an option. I've always liked your work Nathan.Β

This is completely my design based on Castle Grayskull by the Four Horsemen. Although I wasn't totally faithful to their design. I did change some things.

This is awesome! I was a big He-Man and Lego fan growing up - a combination of the two is a great idea. I would have loved to have a set like this when I was a kid!

Agree. When I was a kid, I always received a lego as ChristmasΒ gift. If this existed, definitely I would want one. Today I just don't have the time or patience to build again.

Totally worth it, though.
Speaking of cost, in recent years the price of Lego has really increased; some of the Star Wars kits are hugely expensive. Having said that, I would gladly pay through the nose for one of these - it's an outstanding piece of design. But, what would Castle Grayskull be without a Snake Mountain to counter it? I throw down the gauntlet to you, sir!
