This is a little preview of an idea I'm working on. It's a pencil drawing of my final Ironhide design with out any van paneling or armor on. The final will be ruled and inked and have tech-specs and descriptions of varying parts of the TF.Related content

Third: read comments and totally agree with the similarities to the Terminator exoskeleton design. But that would work perfectly with Ironhide anyway, as that is primarily his function.
Honestly, this is absolutely incredible. The sheer amount of detail and time consumption involved here blows my mind! I bow to your skill. *kowtows!*
And if you EVER get that encyclopedia together, you had better make a lot of noise over it because I want a copy. And then I will hunt you down for a signature! XD

Wow, your designs are just so intricately concieved - the level of detail in the work is simply astounding! So are we to take it that this is the same customization of fan-favorite Ironhide as - [link] or is this to be an all-new interpretation of the character? Regardless, this is great work! You certainly take a draftman's eye to recreating Transformers, honing the delineation with impeccable skill and finess. The art is busy, but never confusingly cluttered; colour will certainly help to give this further clarity, however. Every element you've seen fit to employ is logical in the implementation, serving a definite purpose in either itself or to another simpathetic component. I recognize elements of the 'Terminator' 100 series endoskeleton, but not to the extent that this could be seen as a carbon-copy; this is orginal work, and deserves to be heralded as such. Amazingly, this appears to be completely functional; that is to say, full mobility in movement and reconfiguration - a magnificent achievement! I simply LOVE this schematic, and could concievably spend hours studying it in its intricacies. Does the design have anything to do with this - [link] ?

Thank you for that most excellent comment! Actually, I never even thought about the Terminator resemblance. I use a combination of my own IH design (having fully engineered the toy version I hope to produce someday) and inspiration from a PG MK II Gundam.
To answer you questions, (your first linky-no-worky) I assume you mean the IH I posted a few months ago, then yes and no. It is the same project, but not exactly the same design. I have since purchased a few van model kits and used them to redefine my original design so that it will transform better and look closer to the original G1 character (Iβve hidden the doors among other things)
To the second question, I have postponed the comic mentioned, to do some more productive work on A Compendium of Cybertronian Physiology, a book that I hope to publish on the properties of βmechanical lifeβ (like a biology textbook for Transformers).

Oops - the link was to this: [link] - but you've already addressed that factor (I somehow added a superfluous hyphen that corrupted the URL coding, it would seem... sorry). Anyway, this is indeed an excellent rendering; I'm glad my critique of which was to your liking. I think any skeletal robot form will automatically envoke a Terminator reference, whether or not it was intended. I can recognize the Gundam similarities, however, as I have seen books depicting the internal consitution of these warrior machines from Japan. They're very cool. And so is this! So you plan on making actual Transformers toys from your impressive designs? Fantastic - you'll have to post photographs of the finished product here in your gallery, for all us drooling fans to admire.
Wow - "A Compendium of Cybertronian Physiology" sounds absolutely fantastic! It is so admirable that you are seeking to publish a book on this subject (I see we think alike, although you're actually putting thought into practice). I wish you all the very best in seeing this remarkable venture to fruition - you certainly deserve a successful outcome. Please keep me posted on how you go with this (I'll take this opportunity to respectfully reserve my copy in advance). I'll be most fascinated to see what you eventually come up with in this adventurous endeavour. And good luck with that comic, all the same.
