on Demosthenes comment perhaps the light is a little strong and may work better a little toned down...

but you have used it as part of the effect so yes it does need to be there in a somewhat strong way..focal point if you will.

I used color to unify the piece, and beautify the pavement. I wanted to illuminate all the different pathways with color. I wanted my interpretation of Escher to be optimistic and dreamy rather than grey and melancholy.

Oh I think it worked very well and yeah I like Escher style not so much the drab look so I like the Idea very much of optimism & dreamy in your art

This is a very neat picture. My only issue is that the light thing seems to be a bit out of place. Sweet idea. You did a really good job incorporating yourself into the picture.
